Second Life Supports Rep. Blackburn For Efforts Addressing Google's Online Advertising Practices - 04/12/2012

Second Life of Chattanooga, an organization dedicated to ending human sex trafficking in the greater Chattanooga area, has issued a public letter of support for Rep. Marsha Blackburn for her bipartisan letter to Google, questioning the company's advertising policies and their impact on human sex trafficking. The Community Coalition Against Human Trafficking, End Slavery Tennessee, Free for Life International, and Operation Broken Silence also signed Second Life's letter of support for Rep. Blackburn.

Rep. Blackburn of the 7th District of Tennessee and Rep. Carolyn Maloney of the 14th District of New York challenged Google's online commercial sex advertisements and their link to human sex trafficking in a recent letter to the internet giant.

"I have no doubt that if Google was found to profit from online ads that promoted human trafficking, they would immediately stop the placement of those ads," said Rep. Blackburn.

Second Life of Chattanooga is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending human trafficking in the greater Chattanooga area. Through partnerships with other community organizations, Second Life works to champion hope and justice for the 300,000 children at risk for sexual exploitation and slavery in the United States annually.
