Russell Wilson over Kirk Cousins in NFL Draft? @#$! tweet that, Michigan State players say

If Kirk Cousins went to bed Friday night feeling a bit slighted, he at least had the loyalty of his former Michigan State teammates.

The Spartans' all-time leading passer was projected as a second- or third-round pick in this weekend's NFL Draft, but Day 2 of the draft passed without Cousins' name being called.

Worse yet, in the eyes of his college teammates, Wisconsin QB Russell Wilson — projected to be taken in the fourth round or later — was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round (75th overall).

Cousins and Wilson dueled twice last season, the teams splitting emotional games — the Spartans winning on Cousins' Hail Mary pass to Keith Nichol in East Lansing, and the Badgers winning the Big Ten championship game, preserved when a Michigan State player ran into Wisconsin's punter late in the fourth quarter.

Spartan players, seemingly united, took to their Twitter accounts when Wilson was drafted.

"I just threw up in my mouth a little," senior tight end Drew Stevens tweeted.

"I'm done!!!!!!!" junior cornerback Darqueze Dennard wrote, minutes after tweeting, "I'm so pissed right now!!!!" after re-tweeting the thoughts NFL-hopeful fullback Todd Anderson: "Russell Wilson over Kirk is the worst pick I have ever seen truth."

Sophomore cornerback Taiwan Jones chimed in: "Russell Wilson over Kirk?!?! I'm about to stop watching this."

And from redshirt-freshman linebacker Darien Harris, simply: "- ________ -"

Senior quarterback Peter Badovinac elaborated a bit more.

"Seattle's picks show 2 things: You don't hire a HC/GM in the NFL & there's a reason Pete Carroll didn't make it in the NFL the first time around."

And later from Badovinac: "As if Jim Harbaugh needed another reason to laugh at Pete Carroll."

Cousins is likely to come off the board early in the fourth round Saturday. After that, his play will have to do the talking.
