Five Local GOP Statehouse Candidates Debate Thursday

MCLENNAN COUNTY (April 24, 2012)—The five Republican candidates for the newly drawn Texas House of Representatives District 12 will square off in a debate Thursday evening.

The new district stretches from McLennan County to Brazos County and includes all of Robertson, Falls and Limestone Counties, about a third of McLennan County, and about 15 percent of Brazos County.

The contenders are Chris Scotti, Kyle Kacal, Josh Tetens, Timothy Delasandro and Tucker Anderson.

The debate panel includes State Republican Executive Committeewoman for Texas Senate District 22 Janet Jackson, Homeland Security Strategist for Brazos County Dave McIntyre and Limestone County Commissioner John McCarver.

Director of GOPisForMe, Duke Machado, will moderate the event.

The debate is open to the public beginning at 7 p.m. at La Vega High School on N. Loop 340.

Doors open at 6 p.m.

The debate will be streamed live.

The winner of the GOP primary will face Democrat Robert Stem in the fall.
