Ray Allen to the Miami Heat?

Speculation about that possible move has been rampant for weeks. LeBron James fed into it Thursday night with this tweet during the NBA draft.

While watching the Draft my son Bryce ask "Is Ray Allen gonna play for the Heat". I said "I don't know. I hope so".

Allen, 36, is the NBA's all-time leader in 3-pointers made and has played the past five seasons with the Boston Celtics. He missed 24 games with injuries last season and averaged 14.2 points, his lowest mark since his rookie year. But he also shot a career-best 45 percent on 3-pointers and could fit in nicely as a sharpshooter for the Heat.

Miami has about $3 million to spend on a free agent with its mid-level exception. Allen is an unrestricted free agent and is expected to leave the Celtics.
