Graeter's ice cream to be featured on 'The View'

Graeter's ice cream, made using the French Pot method, will be featured on an upcoming episode of "The View," as part of a segment on the nation's best ice creams.

We all know that Cincinnatians, and Oprah, love Graeter's ice cream.

Bu now another famous fan is trumpeting the French Pot ice cream, still made two gallons at a time. Elisabeth Hasselbeck, one of the hosts of "The View" on ABC, said she's a big fan of Graeter's, according to Graeter's Inc. CEO Richard Graeter.

Hasselbeck recently tweeted about eating some of Graeter's Coconut Chip, and even included a picture of the empty pint.

On July 3, Graeter's will be featured on an episode of "The View," in a segment focusing on the best ice creams in the United States.

The exposure for Graeter's helps with the company's word-of-mouth marketing, said George Denman, Graeter's vice president of sales and marketing.

"We've leaned heavily on social media, engaging our fans," Denman said.

Graeter's "brand ambassadors" in New York and New Jersey will host between 100 and 200 ice cream socials in their homes this summer to spread the word about the product.

Graeter said that form of marketing works best for Graeter's because its the type of product where traditional advertising is too expensive, but if a friend tells you you've got to try this ice cream, they will.

The segment on "The View," plus the expansion into stores in New York and New Jersey, will probably have Graeter's ice cream facility churning out the rich ice cream.

Luckily for Graeter's, the company designed its Bond Hill facility to be expandable. This spring, the company added eight French Pot ice cream machines to help boost production.

So what do you think? Is Graeter's ice cream among the best in the nation?
