Myrtle Beach volleyball advances in Class AAA playoffs - Sports

MYRTLE BEACH -- Myrtle beach shut out Airport 25-21, 25-16, 25-23 in the first round of the Class AAA playoffs.

Shelby Sheets had 10 aces and seven kills, Meagan Milligan had 14 kills and Amy Wiggins recorded eight kills and four blocks for the Seahawks.

Myrtle Beach will host Bluffton in the third round on Monday at 6.

High school volleyball

•  (At) Chapin 3, North Myrtle Beach 0 | The Chiefs were unable to advance past the second round of the Class AAA playoffs as they fell to Chapin 25-21, 29-27, 25-17.

Ellen Johnson had 10 kills and Taylor Allman had eight kills for North Myrtle Beach as they finish their season with an 18-6 record.

High school girls tennis

• (At) Aynor 7, Manning 0 | Aynor shut out Manning in the first round of the Class AA playoffs.

The Blue Jackets will travel to Waccamaw on Tuesday as they battle it out in the second round .

College women's soccer

The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team fell to Winthrop 3-1 at the CCU Soccer Field.

Coastal fell to 2-14-2 overall and 2-6-1 in the Big South as Winthrop improved to 11-6-0 (7-2-0 Big South).

Coastal will host Gardner-Webb in their regular-season finale at noon on Saturday.
