Amber Alert Cancelled: Child safe, suspect in custody - Local News - Reno, NV

& RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - Update: The Amber Alert has been canceled for the 5 year-old boy who was abducted from Southern California. The child is safe and the suspect is in custody.&

According to KNBC, on Thursday March 22, 2012, at approximately 10:37 PM, officers from the San Jacinto Police Department responded to a reported kidnapping in the 1900 block of Tennyson Street, in the city of San Jacinto.

The investigation revealed that 25-year-old, Anthony Smith-Dixon, abducted his 5-year-old son, Domenic Smith, from a child care provider's residence. Per a court order, Anthony Smith-Dixon does not have custodial rights to the child. In addition, a separate restraining order was obtained by the child's mother due to her fear of Anthony Smith-Dixon.

Anthony Smith-Dixon is believed to be driving a gold early 2000's model, Saturn 4-door sedan. The vehicle is believed to be missing the driver's side door panel due to a recent traffic collision.

Anthony Smith-Dixon is a black male adult, approximately 6' 3" tall, 185 lbs, black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a thick black and white jacket and dark pants.

Domenic Smith is a 5-year-old, black male, approximately 3' 6" tall, 50 lbs, black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown shirt with an unknown logo on the front and blue pants.
