Ahna O'Reilly to play the female lead opposite Ashton Kutcher in Jobs flick

There are two films about the life of Steve Jobs currently in the works.

One is a big-budget flick from Sony being penned by Aaron Sorkin, while the other is an independent movie that features Ashton Kutcher playing a young Steve Jobs. Filming on the latter project is poised to kick off in the actual California garage where Jobs and Woz started Apple long ago.

The movie is based on details gleaned from extensive research, including interviews with friends, coworkers and mentors. Indeed, the studio intends to focus on what it describes as the "30 most defining years" of Jobs' life" to create a dark, honest, and uncompromising film.

We've known for a long time now that Ashton Kutcher would be playing the lead in the independent movie. However, information about additional cast members was practically nonexistent.

Now AppleInsider is reporting that Ahna O'Reilly has landed the female lead in the movie.

Yes, O'Reilly will apparently play Chris-Ann Brennan, who was Jobs' girlfriend and is the mother of Steve's daughter Lisa. The real O'Reilly was a San Francisco Bay area painter who first met Steve Jobs in high school.

Another major role in the film, that of Steve Wozniak, will reportedly be played by a Broadway actor named Josh Gad.

Some may recognize O'Reilly from what is called her breakout role in the movie "The Help." Prior to that film, O'Reilly also played small parts in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and "Nancy Drew."
